Lauren Trice's appearance at the Commission meeting to talk about the <br />Preservation Master Plan has been delayed and she plans to attend the <br />next Commission meeting instead. <br />4. Bridget submitted her Operational Budget Requests for 2015 and she <br />thanked the Commission for their input at the last meeting. <br />5. Tomorrow, Bridget will do a walk- through out at City Shops on Empire <br />Road at the request of the City to view any historical items that might be <br />there. <br />6. During the Art Walk this Friday, the "Museum chats" will cover disasters in <br />Louisville including the 1913 snow storm, effects of subsidence in the area, <br />and fires in downtown Louisville <br />7. Bridget shared a copy of an Acme Mine poster that was created for the <br />Planning Department by the archaeologist who worked on the Acme Mine <br />site. The poster looked great. Bridget also mentioned she has not heard <br />any news about the marker of the mine site that was removed when <br />construction started, which she hopes will be donated to the Museum. <br />D. Update on increases in Museum security: Bridget described a recent difficult <br />visitor to the Museum. Because of this uncomfortable experience and because <br />Museum personnel are frequently alone with members of the public, the Museum <br />security is being enhanced. The existing security company is providing four silent <br />alarm fobs so that the police can be reached quickly and staff is looking into <br />keeping the door locked more frequently when staff is working alone after hours. <br />E. Update on Museum Master Plan: Bridget reminded the Commission that the <br />Master Plan is to include the Needs Assessment Report from Metcalfe Architecture <br />& Design, Interpretive Plan with updated Collections Management Policy, and a <br />Business Plan. <br />i. Bridget presented a draft Collections Management Policy that will update <br />the 2002 policy and take into consideration changes that have taken place <br />since 2002, such as the fact that the Museum can now accept donations of <br />digital images. The updates were made based on experience and after <br />studying the recently adopted policy of the Golden History Museum, which <br />is also a city -owned museum in our area (and with the two cities being of <br />similar sizes). Bridget plans to have final version for review at next meeting. <br />Bridget asked for comments on the draft. Julie asked that the differences <br />between the Permanent Collection, the Education Collection, and the <br />Reference Collection be highlighted. Anne asked for the description of the <br />existing storage space to be clarified in terms of the use of the Tomeo <br />House cellar and asked for the updated policy to state that it is to be <br />3 <br />
