City Council member present: Susan Loo.
III. The agenda was approved by all members.
IV. The minutes from the July 2, 2015 meeting were approved.
V. Public Comments on Items note on the Agenda:
Ellen Toon noted the error in the the Hometown Weekly article, 8/5 -11 edition, about
Community gardens and the Sustainability Advisory Board "partnership with the city's
Friends of the Arboretum non profit that will run the garden's finances ". Involvement with
Friends of the Arboretum is necessary because contributions need to go to a 501c3. The
Board agreed that the Sustainability Advisory Board should set up its own 501c3.
Susan Loo brought up the current Council discussion of whether to have a separate Parks and
Recreation Board and HFAB or one Board with sub - committees.
Susan Loo gave a heads up on two new massive Louisville projects which will require
landscaping: McCaslin Market Place and the Old Sante Fe Grill building. The proposal of an
orchard landscape plan on the Alconis Project, also known as Kestrel, an affordable housing
project on 14 acres was discussed.
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335 -4735 • FAX (303) 335 -4738
www.Iouisvilleco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS GOLF
