L6 ' Office a of the Mayor
i •
LOliy1SV111e
COLORADO - SINCE 1878
April 10, 2015
RTD Chairman, Charles Sisk
RTD Board of Directors
1600 Blake Street
Denver, CO 80202
Dear Chuck and Directors,
The Louisville City Council is excited to see the work occurring on US 36 and
anticipates the opening of the express lanes along with the BRT service.
Louisville Mayor Muckle and staff have been involved in reviewing the proposed
US 36 BRT Service Plan and RTD Fare Study in conjunction with the US 36
Mayors and Commissioners Coalition and 36 Commuting Solutions. Comments
were submitted by those groups and Louisville is in concurrence; however the
Louisville Mayor and City Council wanted to follow up with a letter highlighting
specific Louisville recommendations. They are as follows:
US 36 Service Plan:
• Support the All-Station routes and the increased peak and mid-day service
frequency on these routes.
• Support Sky Ride service from Boulder County to DIA with connection to
the Northwest Parkway.
• Concern with the reduction and in some cases elimination of mid-day
express service between Boulder and DUSfCivic Center— retain mid-day
express service along the Corridor (HX and BMX).
As this is the Corridor's FasTracks investment for the foreseeable future, rather
than the shuffling and consolidating that seems to occur with the new service
plan, additional RTD FasTracks dollars should be invested in the BRT Service
Plan beyond the small overall percentage of increase in service dollars being
expended for the rollout of BRT.
Fare Study:
• Support all day fares at twice the single fare.
• Support the local fare of $2.60 for all-station service (per comments
below).
749 Main Street I Louisville CO 8o027
303.335.4533 (Phone) 1303-335.4550 (fax)
www.louisvilleco.gov
