City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />April 28, 2015 <br />Page 2of4 <br />• Volunteered at Senior Center <br />YAB members are required to visit other boards and commissions to learn more <br />of what they do. <br />Future goals: <br />YAB hopes to successfully spread the word and gain awareness for the need of <br />a new outdoor aquatic facility and continue to voice opinions of Louisville youth. <br />Council member Loo appreciated the emphasis on the Aquatic Center and <br />encouraged them to look for ideas for funding. <br />Council member Stolzmann suggested collaborating with the Superior YAB and <br />participating in new opportunities at the Golf Course. <br />Mayor Muckle handed out certificates to YAB members who have served 2 years <br />and thanked the YAB for their involvement. <br />Discussion — Historic Preservation Committee <br />Lauren Trice introduced members of the Historic Preservation Committee (HPC): <br />Deb Fahey, Mike Koertje, Peter Stewart, Kirk Watson <br />Trice gave an overview of the past year. Highlights included: <br />• 740 Front <br />• 3 landmarks <br />• 31 demolition reviews <br />• Grain Elevator <br />• Saving Place Conference <br />• Preservation Master Plan <br />What worked well: <br />• New Planner <br />• Preservation Master Plan Subcommittee <br />• Historic Structure Assessments <br />• 4th Grade Field Trip <br />What did not work well: <br />• Demolition — 10 were re -roofs — would like to simplify process <br />• Historic Structure Assessment standards <br />
