Nuisance abatement; Legislative declaration. <br /> The City Council declares that the determination and abatement of <br /> local nuisances for the protection of the public's health, safety and welfare <br /> is a matter of local concern and therefore subject to the valid exercise of <br /> the City's police powers pursuant to the constitution and laws of the Sate <br /> of Colorado, including without limitation C R.S 31-15-401(1)(c), and the <br /> City charter <br /> Section 8.01.020. Definitions. <br /> As used within this title, the following words and terms shall have <br /> the following meaning except where otherwise specified, or where the <br /> context clearly indicates a different meaning <br /> Authonzed inspector means a police officer, code enforcement <br /> officer, or other City personnel authorized to inspect and examine public or <br /> private property in the City to ascertain the nature and existence of any <br /> nuisance Authorized inspectors may issue notices of violations, give <br /> verbal direction and implement other enforcement actions under this <br /> chapter <br /> Code Enforcement Officer means any officer(s) or employee(s) of <br /> the City designated or authorized by the chief of police or by the chiefs <br /> authorized representative to enforce the provisions of this title <br /> Nuisance means a thing, act, failure to act, occupation, activity, <br /> condition or use of any building, land, substance or property which <br /> A The continuous use or condition of which presents a <br /> substantial danger or hazard to the health, safety or welfare of the <br /> community, or works some substantial annoyance, inconvenience <br /> or injury to the public, or <br /> B The continuous use or condition of which violates any <br /> ordinances of this City, or <br /> Ordinance No 1707,Series 2015 <br /> Page 2 of 14 <br />
