Pat Hornbostel, 655 West Hawthorn, Louisville, Colorado, stated
that Louisville has had an election as to what they wanted done
with this parcel. The people of Louisville said that they wanted
this preserved as open space. He felt that the IGA with Lafayette
and Boulder County is the best way to preserve that as open space.
He felt there were people at the meeting that were just pursuing
their own political vendettas, wanting Louisville to spend over a
million dollars to buy this, spend hundreds of thousands of dollars
in legal fees in a case that Louisville will very likely loose, and
expose Louisville to tens of millions of dollars in possible
liability, which he didn't feel the citizens of Louisville wanted.

Bob Tofte, 1417 Courtesy Road, Louisville, Colorado, has been very
involved in many sports activities in Louisville. He felt
Louisville should have already owned this property back when
Centaurus High School was built. He felt that Louisville should
participate in the purchase of this property and should support the
IGA agreement. He supported the preservation of this property as
open space. He was disturbed by the problems that he sees in using
a fair portion of this property for baseball fields. He felt that
when people voted in the past, they did not envision baseball
fields on this property. He realized that Louisville does need
baseball fields desperately.

Russell L. VanNorstrand, 534 West Sycamore Circle, Louisville,
Colorado, felt that there was a need for an open space buffer with
Lafayette, and a need for a recreational area, including
ballfields. He stated that there is other adequate property
available for commercial and retail development. He felt that this
is the most appropriate place for the ballfields to go.

Karen Olson, 468 West Sycamore Court, Louisville, Colorado, wanted
to add her voice to those who are urging Council to join with the
County and Lafayette in purchasing the property, so that it can be
a permanent piece of open space.

John Leary, 1116 LaFarge, Louisville, Colorado, was in favor of
Boulder County, Louisville, and Lafayette joining together to
purchase this property. He felt that that location is a terrible
for ballfields. He wanted to see a full+analysis of options as to
where, for the benefit of transportation, access, preservation of
the intent of open space in agricultural conditions, other
alternatives are available, before they put ballfields there.

Ted Krichels, 1641 Lincoln, Louisville, Colorado, was not
interested in polarizing this issue. He felt the preservation of
open space was very important.

Dave Ferguson, 100 Aline Street, Louisville, Colorado, stated that
the City has the IGA agreement in effect and the property is going
to remain open space, whether anyone wants it to or not. He can't

12
