Maj-Lis Kemper, City Clerk.
Kemper:

them, to not harass anyone. There
have been many occasions when we
have gathered together considerable
information for a citizen, placing a
table for the citizen to sit in, and
way for that person to inspect it.
I want to make it very clear that
the employees of this City do
support open records and do
cooperate with the citizens. I
don't know where this came from. I
want to pass out a copy of a memo
(SEE ATTACHED) from Susan Griffiths,
City Attorney, prepared for me
recently. We had a flap about
whether applications for employment
can be shared with the press.
(Brand read from the memo.) We did
provide information, as is required
in the Colorado Statutes.

I am highly incensed that this
Resolution has come before you. I
feel as City Clerk that I ran on
open government and I have provided
same to every citizen, who has
contacted me for any information in
the City. I will continue to do the
same. I feel that the staff, the
Administrator, and the City
Councilmembers have provided every
piece of information ever requested
that I have been involved with in
this City. Therefore, since I also
believe in less government and less
laws, because the citizens of
Louisville are smart enough to spell
a name like Maj-Lis Kemper, I would
like to suggest that you do not pass
this Resolution, because we do not
need more laws on the books, when we
have already been conducting
ourselves according to Statutory
Code and doing everything for the
citizens that we can. If there are
any citizens present or seated who
feel that they have not gotten
information from me or the
newspapers who are sitting here,
please talk to me after this meeting

5
