block on each side. We'll probably
be rerouting traffic down LaFarge
Street. There will be foot access,
but vehicular access will have to be
restricted.

Lathrop was concerned about the 7:00 a.m. start on Sunday morning,
because part of the course area is residential, which might be an
inconvenience for the homeowners to have the set-up and commotion
going on starting at 6:00 a.m.

Riley:

We'll be happy to work with you on
that. The extended schedule, we're
trying to include events for all
groups and different ability levels.
We can pare that down, reduce our
schedule, and combine groups.

Lathrop:

Maybe you're going to talk to the
folks that are going to be
inconvenienced. If they don't have
a problem with it, then I won't.

Sisk reminded Riley that Sunday is an important business
opportunity for Colacci's, Karen's, Steinbaugh's, Blue Parrot,
etc., and he wanted to make sure that this event had been discussed
with them, because of the inconvenience.

Riley:

Blue Parrot, specifically, is
outside of the area that will be
affected by closures, as well as
Karen's, which is right on the edge.
The businesses along Main, between
Short and South, are the ones that
will be directly affected. Blaine
Batement, our Treasurer, who lives
in Louisville, has contacted all of
the businesses on Main Street.
Steinbaugh Hardware has agreed to
help us out with prizes. They're
fairly excited about it. We've
gotten very little negative response
from the people there. We feel that
it's an opportunity for the business
people, because it will bring people
downtown, get them out of their
cars, and on the street. We
anticipate anywhere up to 600 - 700
competitors alone to be here.
Especially, the restaurants ....
bicycle racers eat a lot.

8
