Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:27 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Mike Schantz, Christopher Smith, <br />Laura Scott Denton, Missy Davis <br />Board Members Absent: Linda Smith, Spencer Guthrie <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Joe Stevens <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Christopher seconded. The <br />motion was passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Minutes - <br />Christopher moved to approve the minutes as written. Missy seconded. The <br />motion was passed unanimously. <br />V. Staff Updates - <br />A. General Updates <br />1. Education: <br />Sept. 12- Coal Creek Stream Clean Up <br />Sept. 15- Hecla Lake tour with residents from Balfour <br />Sept. 19- Trail Riding Tips <br />Sept. 24- Climate Change Symposium (General Intro) <br />Oct. 6- Owl Extravaganza <br />Oct. 22 -Next Climate Change Symposium Event (Water) <br />2. Burrowing owls are still being observed at Davidson Mesa. <br />3. Weed control was done in Sept, both using a contractor and also by <br />staff. <br />4. There were three recent memorial bench requests. <br />5. Trail maintenance is going on at Davidson Mesa. <br />6. The Warembourg Fishing Pond is being filled. <br />7. There are upcoming maintenance volunteer activities at Walnut Open <br />Space <br />8. Tree trimming along trails is going on, especially at Warembourg <br />Fishing Pond. <br />9. Staff is discussing using social media to increase Open Space's <br />visibility with Denise, the City's new marketing specialist.
