FORMER SAM'S CLUB SITE
REDEVELOPMENT
The City and the Louisville Revitalization Com-
mission released a Request for Proposals (RFP)
for interested parties to submit proposals for the re-
development of the former Sam's Club at 550 South
McCaslin Boulevard. The RFP encourages proposals
that meet the current commercial zoning for the prop-
erty and advance the commercial and retail vitality in
the Centennial Valley area. Proposals are due March 10,
2016.
The Revitalization Commission will review the
proposals in April and provide a recommendation to
the City Council if members find any of the projects are
worthy to pursue.
While the property is privately held, the City is com-
pleting this process in the hope of encouraging a devel-
oper to invest in and redevelop the site.
Additional information regarding the RFP may be
found on the City's web site under Economic Develop-
ment. Questions should be directed to Aaron DeJong,
303.335.4531 or AaronD @LouisvilleCO.gov.
POSSIBLE RECREATION EXPANSION
Continued from page 1
choices to address those issues; then we will need the
community's feedback on potential designs to make sure
we're on the right track."
Once the survey is closed, the consulting firm of Sink
Combs Dethlefs will take the results, combined with the
feedback captured from the December Open Houses
and prepare several conceptual drawings and cost esti-
mates for public comment and discussion. The City will
host public meetings to review several drafts incorporat-
ing a range of choices and solicit additional feedback.
The Open House events will be held in early Spring.
Upon completion of the input, design, and the review
process, the Task Force, alongside the contracted firm,
will complete the assessment and make recommenda-
tions to City Council. If an expansion and /or new
facilities are warranted, the City Council will consider all
costs and practical financing options, including a move
towards a possible bond election in November 2016.
For more information and project updates, visit Louis -
villeRecreation. com.
DOWNTOWN CONSTRUCTION
Mulitple large constuction projects are shceduled for
the downtown area in the next few months.
