Direct benefits are the profits and wages by the business doing the <br />expansion project, indirect benefits include growth from businesses that provide goods <br />or services to the expanding business, and induced benefits include the additional <br />activity in the community from employees from the business and employees of suppliers <br />spending wages in the community. These reports go by multiple names, but generally <br />these reports identify the multiplier effect from an investment. <br />Different entities procure the reports, with the main ones being universities and <br />economic consulting firms. Costs to provide these reports tend to be in the $1,000 to <br />$1,500 range. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff would like the BRaD committee to discuss: <br />• The status of the program, <br />• Suggested changes and clarifications to the Municipal Code, <br />• Discuss the proposed changes relating to implementation of the consumer use <br />tax rebates, and <br />• The analysis provided when evaluating proposals. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
