WURL WILDLIFE SANCTUARY <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />January 2004 <br />City of Louisville <br />Department of Land Management <br />and Louisville Open Space Citizens Advisory Board <br />Project or Equipment Description and Justification <br />Please provide a general project description and include the cost allocation methodology <br />if more than one funding source is requested: <br />Update components of the existing 2004 City of Louisville Opon Spaco Mastor Plan to <br />include now or missing properties, evaluate current recreation management and <br />ecosystem restoration goals. <br />Please describe why this project is needed, how it supports City-wido goals and <br />objectives, what realistic options or alternatives have been considered, and what payback. <br />or rotum on investment, has been calculated: <br />Tho Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, Open Spaco and Trails Master Plan (PROST) <br />identified updating management plans and the 2004 City of Louisville Open Space Master <br />Plan as an immediate and short-term action item. <br />This project is needed to assess change in the landscape over the past ton years and to <br />update management goals so that they reflect current conditions and best management <br />practices. The current plan does not include the following Open Space properties: <br />Damyanovich, Hocla, Bullhead Gulch, Walnut, Olson, Dutch Creek and other smaller <br />parcels. <br />The updates will inform citizens of tho current conditions and the future management <br />direction that will be implemented on Open Spaco over the next ton years. Those updates <br />will help inform day to day management as woll as long torn planning and ensure that the <br />City Is implementing best management practices. <br />Please provide a description of any grants andlor other revenue associated with this <br />project and the ongoing operational and (maintenance costs associated with this project: <br />J Pr`.
