Louisville Public Library Strategic Plan <br />Goal #3: Spark Imagination and Learning <br />2016 Work Plan <br />We provide the space, resources, and programs to help people of all ages find <br />inspiration and become lifelong learners. <br />Objectives <br />1. Bring Resources to Life <br />We create programs that encourage creativity, deliver hands -on education, promote <br />personal growth, and highlight the resources available through the Library. <br />1.1 Work Plan Responses <br />A. Children's <br />• We continue to integrate STEM - related programming <br />into the Summer Reading Program. <br />• Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League offers teams of 6- 9- yr. -olds the <br />chance to learn about engineering and construction. <br />• Other hands -on programs, such as the ongoing LEGOs <br />Club, provide opportunities for exploration and <br />sharing. <br />B. Teen <br />• The physiology -based Anatomy In Clay equipment <br />offers teens in -depth learning opportunities through <br />kits that can be used in the Library. <br />• Regularly scheduled programs offer teens <br />opportunities to be creative. <br />C. Adult <br />• Regularly scheduled Tech advice sessions help adults <br />to better use their electronic devices. <br />• 'Maker' programming gives adults a chance to create <br />artwork and crafts using their own materials in a <br />collaborative environment. <br />2. Provide Exposure for Experts and Artists <br />We collaborate with local artists, educators, and specialists to share their expertise, <br />providing exceptional learning and entertainment opportunities to our patrons. <br />
