2016 Work Plan <br />Louisville Public Library Strategic Plan <br />2.1 Work Plan Responses <br />A. Art Shows <br />• Students, amateurs, and professional artists show their <br />work through gallery displays and exhibits. Partners <br />include the Louisville Art Association, the Louisville <br />Cultural Council, Parks and Recreation, and area <br />schools. <br />B. Demonstrations and performances <br />• We provide venues for local artists and musicians to <br />showcase their talents and skills. <br />C. Instructional partnerships <br />• We engage artists to provide instruction in their areas <br />of expertise <br />3. Encourage Lifelong Learning and Personal Growth <br />We help community members learn new skills by enabling them to locate the information <br />they seek. <br />3.1 Work Plan Responses <br />A. Expand the Flatirons Library Consortium <br />• Up to three additional libraries complete legal review <br />to join an enlarged FLC, making regional catalogs <br />available to Louisville and Superior residents. <br />B. Website <br />• The Library's website is redesigned in conjunction with <br />the City's. Powerful subscription databases not <br />generally available to individual users are featured <br />C. Integrated Library System (ILS) <br />• The new Pika discovery layer makes searching easier, <br />delivers augmented results, and allows greater input <br />from patrons to share book reviews and reading <br />recommendations. <br />D. Programs <br />• The Library is a National Novel Writing Month <br />(NalloWriMo) 'Come Write In' site for aspiring authors. <br />• Introductory programs for children, such as beginning <br />yoga and Tai Kwan Do, promote their personal growth. <br />
