Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 1, 2003 <br />Page 2 of 22 <br /> <br />Ae <br /> <br /> Approval of Bills <br />Approval of Minutes (03/04/03 & 3/12/03) <br />Award Bid to Continental Blower for Centrifugal Blower Compressor <br />Unit <br />Appointment to Louisville Resource Conservation Advisory Board <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Nancy Love, 841 Front Street, Louisville, CO, invited Council and City Staff to attend a <br />social gathering on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arlin Lehman's new <br />building, located at 932 Front Street. She updated Council on the status of the Downtown <br />Street Faire. She explained Special Events Liquor Permits are reserved for non-profit <br />organizations and the Business Improvement District does not qualify, therefore, the <br />DBA would apply for the liquor permits. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK <br /> <br />Sisk read the proclamation proclaiming April 6 - 12, 2003, as National Library Week. <br />Children's Librarian Carol Purfurst accepted the proclamation and thanked Council for <br />recognizing the Louisville Public Library. She invited Council and the residents to visit <br />the library next week for several special events and to visit their newly revised Web site. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - COLORADO TARTAN DAY <br /> <br />Sisk proclaimed April 6, 2003 as Colorado Tartan Day and presented the proclamation to <br />the Rocky Mountain Celtic Clan Council. Members of the Rocky Mountain Celtic Clan <br />Council presented the Colorado Clan Plaid to Council and thanked them for their <br />recognition. The following members of the Rocky Mountain Celtic Clan Council were <br />present and spoke about Tartan Day: Larry Ogsberry, Kitty Ferguson, Shelly Norman, <br />and Mia Gillette. <br /> <br />Larry Ogsberry accepted the Proclamation on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Celtic Clan. <br />Ferguson explained plaid is the Celtic word for blanket and noted the Colorado plaid <br />represents all colors of Colorado. Gillette thanked Council and invited them to the Tartan <br />Day celebration in Denver, on Saturday, April 5th, and stressed Tartan day is a celebration <br />of life, family and history. <br /> <br /> <br />
