6. Implications of cash vs. in-kind with SCFD being resolved
7. If check comes in for accountant while Jim out of town, Maryan will deposit at Vic's
branch of First Community Bank with Shauntine Martinez
DISC Assessment -Jim Pollicita
As anon-profit Board, we meet about 150 hours/year. Diversity can be a source of
strength but in short hits, differences can become source of conflict. The test takes 20
minutes plus a 30-60 minute debriefing. Jim uses this test in his business and is offering
to the Board for free. He can do a combined report that shows everyone how we relate to
each other and find better ways to improve the group dynamic. This could especially
valuable now since we have four new members.
Jim recused himself from the discussion, at the end of which a vote was taken (Julie
made a motion; Maryan seconded:
Don Atwood abstained but said he would participate if the motion carried
Kathy Martin -yes
Julie Seydl, Frost Yarnell and Carol Sheh -absent
Everyone else -yes
Maryan noted that she had already gone through the process with Jim's wife Kathy
Louisville Art Association update -Lynn Wooten
1. The question had been raised at the last meeting whether we could have art hanging in
the Arts Center on a regular basis -LAA would be delighted! The following are thoughts
and considerations:
1. Keys
2. Events
3. paint a mural on removable panels
4. LAA will work out logistics
2. LAA would have liked to be included on Spring Events postcard and Community
Update. Don answered that these come from City-sponsored organizations.
This led to a discussion about whether the LCC is the umbrella arts organization for the
City. Julie spoke in favor; Don spoke against which led to further discussion of who
controls the Arts Center. Kathy stated that the City controls the Arts Center but that LCC
gets first choice on dates.
Julie proposed that the different arts groups make an effort to support each other. The
BCAA manager used to put a big calendar for all of Boulder County that went out to
1800 people that listed all the arts events. Jim suggested that the different organizations
meet to decide the best way to j ointly promote events.
Action Item: Julie will have coffee with representatives of the different arts
organizations in Louisville; Lynn Wooten to coordinate.
