Executive Director's Report
A. Additional Costs for Museum Maintenance and Funding Request
1. JCH Construction completed a maintenance survey of the buildings on
the Museum Campus and brought attention to mold issues, weather
stripping, sealing, installation of insulation, shoring ceilings, and other
maintenance issues that should be completed before painting.
2. A bid of $18,000 was the total estimate, but JCH Construction indicated
that it would charge $12,000, which includes fees for City of Louisville
contracting license.
3. Two other bids are needed.
4. The final bids will be needed as soon as possible because the buildings
could be damaged by leaking windows and lack of insulation.
5. Fencing will need to wait until landscaping and other projects are
completed.
6. Painting will be delayed until repairs and lead abatement are completed.
7. Additional money may be needed for painting after the maintenance
project paid for. There may be a chance to ask the Council for a
supplemental budget appropriate later this year for this.
8. Museum steps are scheduled to be replaced this summer.
9. Landscaping plaques can be completed after the list of donors and their
preferences are received from Elle Cabbage.
10. Punch list for maintenance is now included with the maintenance bid.
B. Jordinelli House Funding Request
1. Funding request will go to the next supplemental budget request in
response the City Council's comments earlier this year. It will be for
approximately $10,000 for preparing the Jordinelli House and Summer
Kitchen for artifacts.
