Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />March 5, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />2. The request from the Commission for 2009 will include increasing the <br />Museum Coordinator position to full time and an additional part-time staff <br />member. <br />C. The City's March utility bills will include a Historical Society membership form <br />insert and will be sent to approximately 6,000 households. <br />D. Preservation/Development Roundtable Forum date to be announced. More <br />information will follow. <br />E. Open Government Training <br />1. Training dates are March 31 at 7:00 PM or April 3 at 8:30 AM in Council <br />Chambers. <br />2. Meredyth Muth will contact those persons who need to attend. <br />F. City Council will write a resolution opposing the demolition of the school and <br />requesting a meeting with Boulder Valley School Board regarding Louisville <br />Middle School. <br />G. City Council has started discussing a possible ballot issue to increase sales <br />taxes for dedicated funding for preservation projects in Louisville. <br />XI. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts from Donors <br />1. Bill Stengel: survey plat of Louisville High School site on Main Street from <br />1938. <br />2. Andy Johnson: antique wallpaper embosser and antique wooden hanger <br />with the name of Irene Fisher. <br />3. Becky Harney: Christmas cookie cutters in their original packaging. <br />B. Correspondence and News Coverage <br />1. The organizers of Boulder County Children's Day Family Week in late <br />April approached the Museum about participating in the program by <br />providing ahands-on children's activity. The event was discussed and it <br />appears that the Museum may be able to participate by making the <br />Museum's children's activity sheets about Louisville history available at <br />the "Kidtastic" event scheduled at the Louisville Recreation Center on <br />April 28. <br />2. Lafayette Miners Museum publication. <br />C. Visitor's Report <br />1. February: 66 visitors <br />2. Year-to-Date: 151 <br />D. Activity Report <br />1. Bridget has been researching the history of the former Bugdust Pool Hall <br />building at 916 Main Street for the City. <br />2. Dick DelPizzo is continuing work on the replica of Louisville that will be on <br />display in the Jordinelli House. Bridget is locating relevant historic photos <br />from the Museum's collection for Dick to refer to in making the remaining <br />buildings for the replica. <br />3. Regarding the construction of a new case to display the Commission's <br />sales items at the Museum, the Commission indicated that Tim Camps <br />could be contacted. <br />4. New volunteer Vickie Marra has started working at the Museum on <br />Tuesdays. <br />
