City Council Business Retention & Development Committee Meeting Minutes January 8, 2007 Page 3 of 3 DISCUSSION - BRAD ORDINANCE, COMMITTEE DUTIES AND MEMBERSHIP Muth noted that the City Attorney is working on an ordinance to formalize the BRaD however he needs some direction in so far as membership and duties. Members were in agreement that with the following direction: . Membership - The Committee will have the following representation: o Three members of City Council o One member of the Planning Commission o One representative from the Revitalization Commission o One representative from the Chamber of Commerce o One representative from the Downtown Business Association o Each of the above will be appointed by their own organizations (Council appoints its representatives, the Planning Commission appoints its representative, the Chamber appoints its representative, etc.) The only change here from the current make up is the addition of a member of the Revitalization Commission. . Duties: o Facilitate economic development in Louisville o Improve communications between the City and local business community o Share insights regarding local economic conditions o Serve as a sounding board for City proposals that could impact local businesses ANNUAL DESIGNATION OF MEETING LOCATION AND POSTING OF AGENDAS Brown moved that the Committee continue to meet at the Library meeting room the first Monday of each month (the second Monday if the first Monday is a holiday.) Meeting agendas will be posted per City requirements at City Hall, the Library, the Recreation Center, the Police/Court Building, and on the City's web site. All members were in agreement.
