The cost is $939 per bench; due to the cost, it was decided that <br />further discussion on benches will be tabled until a later <br />meeting. <br />B. Community Education - No report <br />C. Events and Fundraising <br />1. Silent Auction: All but two items have been sold and had money <br />collected. <br />2. Parade of Lights Open House is scheduled for December 7th, 5:30- <br />8:00. The Commission may change its cookie vendor or members <br />will make them themselves to save costs. <br />3. Holiday Home Tour <br />a. All five homes for the Holiday Home Tour have been <br />confirmed. <br />b. The costs of tickets, advertising and placing a banner on the <br />Museum to advertise were discussed. Placing a banner on the <br />side of the Museum may have to be approved under the City of <br />Louisville sign code. <br />c. "Save the Date" flyers will be distributed to the public. Meredyth <br />Muth will see to printing them. <br />d. A suggestion was made to add a perforated tab on the Holiday <br />Home Tour tickets so that participants can enter their names for <br />a giveaway of a framed Louisville postcard print. <br />D. Membership <br />1. Dan Mellish will place an ad in The Louisville Times to thank <br />Business Sponsors for their memberships. The cost of the ad <br />is expected to be $58. <br />2. New memberships <br />a. 33 individuals or families have joined the Society so far in 2008. <br />b. Meredyth Muth will check on whether the Commission might <br />be able to include a membership insert in a utility billing. <br />3. Business Sponsorship renewal letters are to go out in <br />November and will include two complimentary Holiday Home <br />Tour tickets as a thank-you. <br />E. Volunteers - Sally Burlingame is working on coordinating Home Tour <br />volunteers. <br />F. Public Relations <br />1. The September 25th networking meeting with historical groups from <br />Lafayette and Superior was attended by Bob Enrietto, Dan Mellish, <br />Elle Cabbage, Bridget Bacon, and Meredyth Muth. <br />2.
