No matter who wins in November, the one thing is sure is that there <br />will be a new President. This will mean that November will b~e a lot of jockeying for Cabinet Members and <br />potential Administration positions. We will want to make surf; that we follow this very closely as each <br />change has the potential to affect our project. <br />• Without a doubt, Congress will be left with undone business. This means that Congress will likely return <br />for a Lame Duck session. <br />November work plan <br />• It is very likely that the Transportation Committee's will use this time to begin <br />to put together the reauthorizations bill. <br />o Meet with Congressional Staff to gather intelligence ion the shape and <br />direction of the reauthorization <br />o Keep US36 on the Members radar screen as Congress heads into the <br />New Year. <br />• Forward news and relevant information regarding DC happeniings <br />Other matters for consideration: <br />Co <br />• Is the only MCC request going to be for funding? <br />• Are there policy positions we want to stake out -Small Starts'? <br />• As the bill is developed and we learn more about what other groups and interests are asking for we may <br />want to weigh in on the issues -are we going to try and affect: other elements in reauthorization? <br />13 <br />
