participation in recycling by the communities of <br />Lafayette and Louisville. The Boulder Energy <br />Conservation Center is a non-profit community <br />organization who wi7L1 conduct a program in these two <br />communities to survey the cities and develop an <br />awareness/education program through advertising, <br />presentations and public service announcements. Ms. <br />Newton explained that the City Councils would play <br />an integral role in this project by endorsing and <br />encouraging the program. There is no financial <br />commitment necessary from this for this program. <br />The Solid Waste Advisory Committee has recommended <br />that funds be allocated up to $11,000 for the <br />project. <br />Mayor Fauson moved and Szymanski seconded that <br />Council endorse and support this project in <br />Louisville. <br />Sackett gave his pez•sonal endorsement stating that <br />waste disposal is orie of the biggest issues facing <br />the State now and iri the future. <br />The motion was approved unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE #946 - DYER ROAD ANNEXATION - <br />PUBLIC HEARING Williamson read by i~itle only Ordinance #946, "An <br />Ordinance annexing t:o the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, a parcel of property of approximately 10 <br />acres located west of McCaslin Boulevard which is <br />owned by 1007 Corpo:ration." Proof of publication <br />and notice of public: hearing were established. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing. <br />Wanush asked that his remarks be considered for both <br />the annexation and zoning hearings discussed for the <br />Dyer Road proceedings. <br />Wanush explained that RB Development is requesting <br />the annexation of approximately 10 acres of ground <br />generally located or.~ Dyer Road west of McCaslin <br />Blvd. The Planning Commission reviewed this in a <br />public hearing on December 8, 1987 and recommended <br />that the property be annexed. They also recommended <br />that certain restrictions be placed on allowable <br />uses. Since this a,n entrance to the City, it has a <br />definite relationship to US 36 and McCaslin Blvd and <br />the Homart property. To ensure proper design and <br />uses in that area, Commission recommended the pro- <br />perty to zoned CB with conditions that included <br />several incompatiblE~ uses that should be excluded <br />from any developments plan including but not limited <br />to animal hospitals„ kennels, public garages, car- <br />washes, cleaning laundry plants, cold storage <br />2 <br />
