PROCLAMATION - LIBRARY <br />WEEK Mayor Fauson proclaimed April 17-23 as National <br />Library Week recogn~_zing the Louisville Public <br />Library's participation in this special week with <br />a variety of activities from special programs for <br />children to an open house by the Library. <br />COUNCIL REVIEW/RENEWAL - CHANNEL 17 <br />CONTRACT At Council's last meeting, Tim Griffin of Channel <br />17, asked that Council consider renewal of their <br />contract to televises Council's meetings. Late in <br />1987, Channel 17 begun televising the Council <br />meetings for a threes month period. It is now time <br />for Council review a.nd take action on a contract <br />with TV 17 to continue televising Council's <br />meetings. <br />Griffin reviewed the status of Louisville TV-17 <br />with regard to its coverage of the Council <br />meetings stating the. upgrades that have been <br />performed by the group to enhance the coverage of <br />the meetings and explaining that most of the <br />difficulties experienced in earlier productions <br />have been resolved. The meetings broadcast live <br />and taped for viewing again on Thursdays. Griffin <br />asked that Council authorize TV-17 to continue <br />covering Council's meetings. <br />Szymanski moved and Scarpella seconded to renew <br />TV-17's contract to cover City Council meetings <br />for 1988. Unanimous. <br />MOOTIES RESTAURANT LIQUOR LICENSE <br />PUBLIC HEARING Ferris explained that DSG Inc. is applying for a <br />liquor license for their restaurant, Mooties, <br />which is located at the Centennial Center, 356 S. <br />McCaslin Boulevard. Tonight is the scheduled <br />public hearing for this liquor license. The <br />owners circulated a ;petition and the results will <br />be presented by the applicants. Proof of <br />publication and posting of premises were <br />established. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and asked <br />the applicant for a :presentation. <br />Shawn Griffith, a principle and general managing <br />partner of Mooties, .stated that the principles <br />personally conducted the survey and gathered the <br />signatures on the petition. 97~ of those signing <br />the petition (containing approximately 265 <br />signatures) "wholeheartedly concurred with our <br />application." Griffith stated that they sampled <br />all of Louisville at various times of the day. <br />The proposed liquor :license will compliment their <br />2 <br />
