reconstruction/resurfacing project is Hutchinson <br />Street from Roosevelt Street to Jefferson Avenue. <br />Once bids are obtained, the Public Works <br />Department will be coming to Council with bid <br />award recommendations so the projects can proceed <br />as needed. Staff is seeking authorization to <br />obtains bids on the;>e projects. <br />Anderson moved and Mayor Fauson seconded to <br />authorize the Public: Works Department to obtain <br />bids for the 1988 C]CP Projects as outlined. <br />Unanimous. <br />ORDINANCE #951 - PERSONNEL POLICY - 1ST READING - <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING Ordinance #951, "An Ordinance amending Title 2, <br />Chapter 2.68 of the Louisville Municipal Code <br />concerning position classifications, and salary <br />schedule." <br />Asti-Caranci stated that in 1986, A.S. Hansen, <br />Inc. assisted the City in developing a Salary <br />Administration Program Manual. Section II, <br />"Position Evaluatior.~ and Classifications," of the <br />manual specified that at least annually the <br />Evaluation Committee (department heads) will <br />review any new positions, or any positions for <br />which a re-evaluation has been requested by the <br />supervisor. Requests for re-evaluation must be <br />justified by one or more of the following <br />situations: <br />- current position grade appears to be out of <br />line with other similar positions throughout the <br />City and/or the front range market area; <br />- the responsibilities of the position have <br />undergone significant changes, with specific <br />duties added or deleted; <br />- the supervisor lhas experienced difficulty in <br />hiring qualified individuals because of the salary <br />range guidelines; <br />- the supervisor has experienced unusual turnover <br />in a position which may be due to salary range <br />guidelines; <br />- existing salary guidelines would result in <br />overpaying or underpaying an individual employee <br />in the judgment of the supervisor. <br />In March, department heads reviewed nine positions <br />and the City Manager reviewed two positions (Dir. <br />of Public Works and Executive Secretarx for the <br />Administrator).
