APPROVAL OF STREET CLOSURE - "TASTE OF <br />LOUISVILLE" The Louisville Chamber of Commerce has requested <br />City Council approve the closure of Main Street <br />from Walnut to Pine and Spruce Street from Main to <br />Front on August 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />The street closing will allow the Chamber to hold <br />their second annual Taste of Louisville and <br />Sidewalk Sale. <br />Mohr moved and Scar:pella seconded to approve the <br />stated street closure for the Louisville Chamber <br />of Commerce. Motion passed 6-0. <br />APPROVAL OF VILLAGE SQUARE/LOUISVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY <br />BENEFIT RACE The Village Square Merchants Association, <br />Louisville Fire Department and Muscular Dystrophy <br />Foundation have requested Council approval of <br />closure of certain intersections in order to host <br />a 5K "Louisville Village Run." This race is <br />scheduled for August 25 at 8:15 a.m. and will <br />follow the same route as the Louisville Turkey <br />Trot with all proceeds going directly to the <br />Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. Traffic control <br />will be handled by the Fire Department and the <br />staff time required to assist in the conceptual <br />planning will be minimal. <br />Mayor Fauson moved a:nd Ferrera seconded to approve <br />the 5K "LouisvillEa Village Run." The motion <br />passed 6-0. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET CLOSURE - NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK <br />PARTY The residents on Lois Circle have an annual block <br />party and are asking Council once again to approve <br />the closure of Lois Circle on Saturday, August 6th <br />at 3:00 p.m. four this event. A letter <br />representing the majority of the residents on Lois <br />Circle has been submitted. <br />Mohr moved and Ferrera seconded to approve the <br />street closure on Lois Circle for a block party. <br />The motion passed 6-0. <br />APPOINTMENT TO LIBRARY BOARD <br />VACANCY A vacancy occurred •on the Library Board and was <br />advertised for candidates. The Library Board met <br />this week and recommended that Bob Tofte be <br />appointed to the Library Board. The is a mayoral <br />appointment. <br />Mayor Fauson appoini~ed Bob Tofte to the Library <br />Board. <br />Councilman Carnival arrived and joined the meeting at this point. <br />2 <br />
