AUTHORIZATION TO REQUEST COUNTY FUNDS FOR PARTICIPATION IN SOUTH BOULDER <br />ROAD IMPROVEMENTS Stahl explained that So. Boulder Road from Highway <br />42 east to the Lafayette/Louisville City limits is <br />approximately 2750 ft. long and is the only <br />portion that remains two lanes. In the past few <br />months, staff has discussed informally with <br />various officials in Boulder County the <br />possibility of funding jointly the four-laning of <br />this portion of So. Boulder Road. Staff has also <br />talked to property owners in the area who are <br />willing to discuss the opportunities that may be <br />available to create a Special Improvement District <br />to share in the balance of the costs incurred by <br />the improvement. Staff is seeking Council <br />authorization to formalize a request to Boulder <br />County for funds to participate in this project. <br />Staff projects that the construction could be <br />completed the summer of 1989. <br />Mayor Fauson moved and Ferrera seconded to <br />authorize staff to formally request the County <br />Commissioners consider a request for County funds <br />to participate in the South Boulder Road <br />improvements from Highway 42 east to the City <br />limits of Lafayette. Motion passed unanimously. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS None. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE <br />REPORTS Mohr stated that the W-470 Authority has published <br />a notice that a public hearing regarding the <br />funding of the proposed W-470 Highway will be held <br />on November 16, 1988, at 4:00 p.m. at the W-470 <br />offices at 18,470 W. Highway 72, in Golden, CO. <br />RECESS Mayor Fauson called a 10 minute recess and asked <br />that Council return for an Executive Session. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION Council held a short. Executive Session. <br />ADJOURNMENT Council returned from their Executive Session and <br />Mayor Fauson adjourned the meeting. A Study <br />Session was then held wherein information was <br />presented for a Cultural Facilities District, a <br />new Subsidence Program and the Special Transit <br />System. <br />8 <br />
