PROCLAMATION - "ABC-ALWAYS BUY COLORADO"
MONTH Mayor Fauson declared April as "ABC-Always Buy
Colorado" month to promote products produced in
Colorado.
AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE
TREES Krisko stated that bids for the purchase of 75
trees were received with the lowest bid of $8,309
(for both trees and planting) coming from Tree
Farm. In addition, Krisko asked for approval of
the purchase of 5 wildlife cover starter set for
Harper Lake from the State Forest Service at a
cost of $134. BotYi items would be charged against
the CIP budget.
Mayor Fauson moved that the purchase request for
the trees and starter sets be approved. Mohr
seconded. Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE CHLORINE FEEDER FOR
CITY POOL Krisko stated that the feasibility of installing
an automatic control system for chlorinating the
Municipal Swimming Pool has been conducted and
staff recommends the purchase of such equipment.
The manually controlled system required pool
personnel to periodically open and close valves
during the day to try and adjust water quality.
This is time consuming and uses significantly more
chemicals. The aultomated system provides a
healthier pool environment and the automation
would save up to 30~ of the present cost of
chemicals annually. The payback period for this
equipment would be 3-5 years. Savings thru the
restructuring of pool staff will allow a savings
to cover the purchase of this equipment.
Mayor Fauson moved that the purchase of an
automatic chlorination control system for the
Municipal Pool be approved. Mohr seconded.
Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE MATERIALS FOR EMPIRE ROAD/CEMETERY WATER LINE
INSTALLATION PROJECT Phare explained that material quotations for the
construction of a waterline for the Empire Road/
Cemetery project were received on March 10, 1987.
The low bidder was. Dana Kepner Co. in the amount
of $38,284.25.
The Public Works Department has contacted affected
property owners along Empire Road regarding
easement and water service. Negotiations are still
underway for possible easements. A permanent
easement is being .sought from the Mayhoffers and
temporary easement from the Hafners. Construction
of the Empire Road waterline is tentatively set
2
