Unanimous. <br />UPDATE - GOLF COURSE <br />NEGOTIATIONS Hundley stated that two weeks ago, the City was <br />notified by John Lohre, of First Municipal Leasing <br />Corporation, that his group, the Gunderson Group, <br />was no longer interested in negotiating with the <br />City for a golf course on Davidson Mesa. Hundley <br />stated that several alternatives should be <br />considered by Council to proceed with bring a golf <br />course to Louisville: 1) cease golf course <br />negotiation efforts until the Coal Creek Ranch <br />project is reviewed and a disposition made; 2) <br />commence immediate negotiations with one or more <br />of the four groups which have expressed a <br />continuing interest in developing a golf course in <br />Louisville; 3) commence advertising for <br />alternative proposals for developing a golf course <br />in Louisville; 4) work with the National Golf <br />Foundation to design a formal process to solicit, <br />evaluate, and negoitiate final agreements with <br />prospective golf course developers. <br />Hundley stated than the last suggested alternative <br />might be the most realistic in that the Foundation <br />has a wealth of experience and can advise <br />Louisville on the ]best way to provide the City <br />with a golf course and then come back to Council <br />regarding the term;a of any proposed agreement. <br />The National Golf ]Foundation is a non-profit group <br />and has been in bu:ainess for 51 years dedicated to <br />the development of golf courses in the United <br />States. The Foundation is the clearing house for <br />any and all types of information regarding golf <br />courses and will serve as consultants and protect <br />Louisville's interE~st. If Louisville should so <br />choose, the Foundattion will locate an architect, <br />evaluate and recommend different financial <br />arrangements, i.e., leases, revenue bonds, etc., <br />find the best consi`ruction companies, and prepare <br />bids all in Louisv:ille's best interest. <br />Sackett stated that: he would be refraining from <br />voting on this issue. <br />6 <br />
