OTHER: <br />JOINT RECREATION <br />COMMITTEE <br />CEMETERY WATERLINE <br />TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON SOUTH <br />BOULDER ROAD <br />As a follow-up to a joint Council meeting, <br />Lafayette has appointed four people to this Joint <br />Recreation Committee. Hundley suggests that <br />Robert Krisko, and member of the Recreation Task <br />Force and two Counc:ilmembers serve on this joint <br />Committee to look at recreation programs and look <br />at a recreation facility. <br />Mayor Fauson stateci that Anderson expressed a <br />desire to be on thEa Committee. Carnival and <br />Scarpella also askE~d to serve. <br />the City's cemetery. Putting the waterline down <br />Highway 42 might better tie in the City's grid <br />system and/or connE~ct some loose ends of the <br />City's water system, as well as serve some area of <br />potential developmE~nt prospects. With this in <br />mind, the Public Works Department put a stop on <br />the pipe order and asked that this be discussed at <br />the Work Session on April 29th. At that time <br />staff will be able to inform Council of the cost <br />of a line down Highway 42 and what the timing <br />of that project would be. <br />Hundley stated that. several Councilmembers <br />expressed concern regarding the waterline to serve <br />Phare explained that the contractor installing the <br />traffic signal at South Boulder Road and McCaslin <br />Blvd. will begin work tomorrow. As everyone is <br />aware, the South Boulder Road Project is underway <br />widening that portion from McCaslin to Washington. <br />The signal should be completed in approximately 2 <br />months. Should the South Boulder Road Project <br />extend the completion time for the traffic signal, <br />the Public Works Department is geared to deal with <br />any traffic problems by utilizing flashing beacons <br />and other options to minimize problems at that <br />intersection. During construction the speed limit <br />has been reduced tc> 25 mph through that portion of <br />the road. <br />Anderson asked if provisions have been made from <br />the west to indicate a signal ahead. Phare stated <br />that it is a sound :suggestion that will be <br />implemented. <br />INVITATION TO ATTEND ROCKY FLATS INFORMATION MEETING RE: <br />PROPOSED BURN Hundley stated that Council received an invitation <br />to attend an information meeting at Rocky Flats <br />regarding the proposed burn.
