Mayor Fauson moved that the Morrison annexation <br />request be referred to the Planning Commission. <br />Scarpella seconded. Unanimous. <br />DISCUSSION - POW WOW <br />GROUNDS Hundley explained that a letter was received from <br />Herm Schempp requesting to speak to Council. Mr. <br />Schempp is asking Council consideration of changing <br />the zoning on his property otherwise known as the <br />Pow Wow Grounds. Mr. Schempp requested rezoning of <br />his property from Agricultural to Commercial Zoning <br />last year. Planning Commission reviewed his request <br />and voted 3-3, therE~by failing to support or <br />recommend approval of this zone change. Mr. Schempp <br />subsequently withdrE~w his rezoning request. <br />Mr. Schempp explainE~d to Council that although his <br />property is zoned Agricultural he is being taxed as <br />if it were zoned Commercial. He has appealed to the <br />County Commissioners but has not had his tax status <br />changed. Mr. Schempp asked Council for their help <br />and consideration iri this matter. <br />Mayor Fauson agreed to write to the County <br />Commissioners to review this issue and reconsider <br />the assessment of this property. <br />OTHER: <br />REQUEST FOR DONATION - LOUISVILLE YOUTH ACTIVITIES <br />ASSOCIATION Hundley stated that he had received a letter from <br />Ken Ferrera, President of the Louisville Youth <br />Activities Association, requesting a $400 <br />contribution from tYie City for the LYAA's <br />calendar/raffle project. <br />Council discussed the City's financial status and <br />discussed the recommendation from the City's Finance <br />Committee of a contribution of $200. Carnival ab- <br />stained from discussion as he an active member of <br />the Association. <br />Mohr moved that the City contribute $200 to the LYAA <br />for their calendar/raffle project. Sackett <br />seconded. Although ;some members wished the amount <br />could be more, the motion was approved 6-0 with <br />Carnival abstaining. <br />LOUISVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - STREET CLOSURE REQUEST FOR <br />LABOR DAY The Chamber of Commerce submitted a letter to <br />Council requesting certain street closures during <br />events over the Labor Day Weekend Celebration. <br />Mayor Fauson moved that their request be approved. <br />Mohr seconded.
