with curb and gutter and median construction in
the Wood Bros. Subdivision to Lafayette Street,
Hundley stated.
Bond Counsel is putting the bonds out for sale at
this time and at the next Council meeting, April
1st, there will be an ordinance to close on the
sale of these bonds for the improvement district.
All the bonds will be sold contingent upon final
Council action which will be taken through an
Emergency Ordinances in order to obtain the money
as soon as possible.
Mohr moved that Council approve the award of bids
for Via Appia Improvements to the contractors
identified in the consulting engineer's letter
with the stipulation that the award be made only
when bond proceeds are available. Mayor Fauson
seconded. Unanimous.
EXECUTIVE SESSION This entry on the Agenda was in error. Mayor
Fauson explained that there is not an Executive
Session this evening.
PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
COUNCIL COMMENTS AND
COMMITTEE REPORTS Sackett related that he received a letter asking
for support of HB 1289, developing air quality
plans. Hundley will check with CML and bring back
to Council information for consideration regarding
this issue.
Anderson commented .as a member on the Consortium
of Cities that at the last meeting as a
continuation of the open space action time line
that began in March and will continue for one
year, a plan is to be developed as to how all the
communities within the County want to deal with
open space issues. The City of Boulder is now
attempting to purchase $2.8 million in open space
in what is perceived to be a fast tract manner and
allows no time for member cities to react. This
proposed purchase is in direct contradiction to
the purpose of the Consortium.
Mayor Fauson stated that a letter was sent to
Boulder Mayor Linda Jourgensen requesting a
postponement of a decision to purchase the
property in question until the Consortium was able
to look at and respond to the issue since Boulder
is going out of their comprehensive plan
boundaries. The City of Boulder is meeting this
evening on this issue.
10
