Fauson moved that Ordinance #900 be put out for publication and a Public Hearing be set for June 16, 1986. Mohr seconded. Unanimous. OTHER ITEMS: H.B. 1104 Sackett explained tYiat this Bill is up for a possible veto by Governor Lamm. H.B. 1104 does away with the need for a certificate of necessity for medical providers. Under this Bill, should Louisville want to attract a medical provider, that provider would have to go to the State for approval. This becames very expensive for the providers just to be able to move to where the population is. Sackett has drafted a letter and is asking for Council support in asking Governor Lamm to approve H.B. 1104 which repeals the Certificate of Public Necessity Act. Anderson asked that he abstain from voting on this matter so as not to create any potential conflict of interest. Mohr moved that Council approve the Mayor sending a letter to Governor Lamm in support of H.B. 1104. Sackett seconded. Passed 6-0 with Anderson abstaining. MEMORANDUM REGARDING PARK AND RECREATION TASK FORCE APPOINTMENTS Ferris distributed copies of the letters from applicants applying to the Park and Recreation Task Force. Mayor Fauson asked that Council consider their selections this week so that appointments could k>e made at the June 3rd Council Meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Anderson reported on. the Consortium of Cities meeting last month and detailed a program in the County whereby Seniors can work off part of their property tax bill. Also, Anderson explained the Exxon refund for which municipalities and counties can apply far monies to fund energy conservation related projects. A report on other issues will be passed along to Council. Mohr stated that there are two public hearings on W-470 June 2nd and 4th. He also thanked everyone for their participation on the Louisville Futures Conference and a summary will be available soon. 14
