Fauson moved that Ordinance #900 be put out for <br />publication and a Public Hearing be set for June <br />16, 1986. Mohr seconded. Unanimous. <br />OTHER ITEMS: <br />H.B. 1104 Sackett explained tYiat this Bill is up for a <br />possible veto by Governor Lamm. H.B. 1104 does <br />away with the need for a certificate of necessity <br />for medical providers. Under this Bill, should <br />Louisville want to attract a medical provider, <br />that provider would have to go to the State for <br />approval. This becames very expensive for the <br />providers just to be able to move to where the <br />population is. Sackett has drafted a letter and <br />is asking for Council support in asking Governor <br />Lamm to approve H.B. 1104 which repeals the <br />Certificate of Public Necessity Act. <br />Anderson asked that he abstain from voting on this <br />matter so as not to create any potential conflict <br />of interest. <br />Mohr moved that Council approve the Mayor sending <br />a letter to Governor Lamm in support of H.B. 1104. <br />Sackett seconded. Passed 6-0 with Anderson <br />abstaining. <br />MEMORANDUM REGARDING PARK AND RECREATION TASK <br />FORCE APPOINTMENTS Ferris distributed copies of the letters from <br />applicants applying to the Park and Recreation <br />Task Force. Mayor Fauson asked that Council <br />consider their selections this week so that <br />appointments could k>e made at the June 3rd Council <br />Meeting. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS None. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS Anderson reported on. the Consortium of Cities <br />meeting last month and detailed a program in the <br />County whereby Seniors can work off part of their <br />property tax bill. Also, Anderson explained the <br />Exxon refund for which municipalities and counties <br />can apply far monies to fund energy conservation <br />related projects. A report on other issues will <br />be passed along to Council. <br />Mohr stated that there are two public hearings on <br />W-470 June 2nd and 4th. He also thanked everyone <br />for their participation on the Louisville Futures <br />Conference and a summary will be available soon. <br />14 <br />
