ORDINANCE #902 - FOSTER/DANAILOFF REZONING - <br />PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #902, <br />"An Ordinance amending Title 17 of the Municipal <br />Code of the City of Louisville entitled "Zoning" <br />by rezoning a parcel of property located within <br />the City of Louisville near South Boulder Road and <br />Highway 42 owned by Clifford S. Foster and Daniel <br />A. Danailoff and Penelope A. Danailoff. " <br />Publication and notice of public hearing were <br />determined. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing. <br />Hundley explained that a key goal Council <br />identified was to improve the City's <br />economic/commercial base. This particular <br />rezoning request has been reviewed by staff and <br />feel that it is worthy of serious Council <br />consideration. <br />Wanush reviewed the request stating that RB <br />Development has under contract a 57 acre parcel of <br />land and comprised of two parcels - the Foster and <br />the Danailoff properties. The entire parcel is <br />currently zoned A and is located in the northeast <br />corner of the intersection of Highway #42 and <br />South Boulder Road. Applicant's request is for <br />Commercial Business zoning and it is in the City's <br />service area. At the June 10th Planning Commis- <br />sion public hearing, staff recommended approval <br />with the condition that both properties (all 57 <br />acres) be developed under a single PUD. Commis- <br />sion approved the request with this condition. <br />Bob Brisnehan, President R B Development, spoke <br />briefly stating that a 2-acre center is being <br />proposed with a super marker and a major discount <br />store. <br />Mayor Fauson asked for anyone wishing to speak in <br />favor of or in opposition to this rezoning <br />request. <br />Laurence Enrietto, 1000 LaFarge spoke in favor of <br />the rezoning stating that at the Louisville <br />Futures Symposium economic development was a top <br />priority showing this corner as a potential site. <br />John Peer, 223 So. Buchanan Ave., spoke in favor <br />of the rezoning echoing Enrietto's comments and <br />commended present Council for their actions toward <br />economic development. <br />Carlyle Rowland, 1064 Adams Ave., spoke in favor <br />of the rezoning stating that he looks at zoning <br />2 <br />
