Excerpt from 09 -17 -2015 LCC Meeting Minutes <br />Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />17 September 2015 <br />City Hall, Spruce Room <br />749 Main Street <br />6:31 pm LCC Mission and Program Planning <br />LCC Mission and Program Planning <br />Proposed Mission Statements (a) and (b) in meeting packet were discussed. <br />Final statement, passed by the LCC: We promote arts and culture in Louisville. <br />We program cultural events, advocate for and support artists, and advise City <br />Council. By doing so we engage our diverse social, cultural, and creative <br />community. <br />Proposed Job Description was discussed and approved as amended. Final LCC job <br />description reads as follows: <br />Each member of the Louisville Cultural Council: <br />• Participates in the monthly LCC meeting (2 — 2.5 hours /month) <br />• Plans and executes cultural events (up to 7 hours per event — monthly) <br />• Reads, evaluates and awards grants (up to 2 hours /month) <br />• Activities such as collaborating with other cultural organizations, working <br />group meetings and special projects (up to 1 hour /month) <br />In addition, titled positions carry extra responsibilities: <br />• The Chair creates a monthly meeting agenda, runs the monthly LCC <br />meeting, reviews prepared meeting minutes, serves as primary contact with <br />Louisville staff, supports special projects such as SCFD grant writing, <br />represents LCC at other meetings, and supports LCC- related phone calls <br />and emails (5 hours /month and upward). <br />• The Vice Chair may assume the Chair's role in his /her absence, and <br />supports the Chair as needed. <br />• The Treasurer creates, manages, and oversees the LCC budget, manages <br />banking, creates a monthly report, and leads the annual SCFD grant writing <br />(4 hours /month). <br />• The Secretary records monthly meeting minutes (1.5 hours /month). <br />
