City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />April 21, 2016 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Louisville Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br />Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager <br />Aaron DeJong, Economic Development Director <br />Kurt Kowar, Director of Public Works <br />Beth Barrett, Library Director <br />Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City <br />Manager <br />Superior Staff Present: Matt Magley, Town Manager <br />Alex Ariniello, Director of Public Works <br />Call to Order— The meeting was called to order at 7:30 am by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Lipton <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lipton said the Mayor Muckle was called away unexpectedly. <br />Lipton warmly welcomed Superior to the Coal Creek Golf Course <br />Discussion — Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) — DRCOG Award <br />Recipient <br />City Manager Fleming said Louisville and Superior jointly won an award for the <br />DDI. He thanked Superior for the great collaborative effort. Landscaping will <br />start soon. <br />The DDI is on the cover of Public Works magazine which was circulated. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lipton gave special recognition to public works departments of <br />both cities for their efforts on the DDI. <br />Trustee Dozal and Council member Stolzmann were at DRCOG recently and <br />asked for money to synchronize traffic lights surrounding the DDI. <br />The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is running and coming together very well on US 36. <br />Both communities have benefited. <br />Council member Stolzmann will coordinate transportation to DRCOG Awards <br />dinner and asked that people who would like to travel together contact her. <br />Stripping is fading and is essential on the interchange /DDI. If permanent stripping <br />can't be done quickly, Superior trustee Dozal suggests re -doing temporary <br />stripping. <br />Council member Keany reminded everyone that Superior and Louisville have <br />won a joint award previously on the sharing of sales tax on the current Town <br />Center property. He said the neighboring communities work very well together <br />and he appreciates the relationship. <br />
