City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />April 21, 2016 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />Discussion — Superior Town Center Status <br />Town Manager Matt Magley gave an update on the Town Center. Utilities are in. <br />Road construction will start in May for the first two initial phases. They are <br />working on several hotel deals. Medical office building will start construction in <br />the summer. Residential construction on the southern portion of the property will <br />likely begin this fall. Superior would like Louisville Council to tour with them. <br />Magley will give tour dates to Fleming. <br />Additional tax revenue generation will start this year. <br />Mayor Folsom took over leading the meeting with the departure of Mayor Pro <br />Tenn Lipton. <br />Library Update <br />Louisville Library Director Beth Barrett gave an update. CO Play & Learn early <br />literacy App has been released. Barrett apologized for parking difficulties around <br />library. This year's Summer Reading Program will focus on the outdoors and <br />exercise. The library will have passes to check out to Colorado state parks by <br />July 1. Stormwater project should wrap up at the end of May. <br />Superior's usage has remained steady at approximately 20 %. <br />Summer reading program will launch in 3 or 4 weeks. <br />On the Same Page title selection will be announced in June. <br />550 S. McCaslin Update <br />Louisville Economic Development Aaron DeJong - Urban Renewal authority is <br />reviewing a proposal for a King Sooper Marketplace at the old Sam's Club site. <br />There are restrictive covenant issues. Council will review the proposal at the 2nd <br />meeting of May. If the store moves forward, both King Soopers would remain <br />open. <br />Council member Keany said Louisville Council supports uses on the site that <br />meet current zoning. Urban Renewal is a difficult process. The Town Board and <br />City Council discussed the impacts, benefits and constraints, on adjacent <br />properties. <br />Recreation Facilities Update for Superior and Louisville <br />Louisville Parks and Recreation Director Joe Stevens thanked everyone for <br />coming to the Coal Creek Golf Course. The Recreation /Senior Center is looking <br />at a $25m bond issue to renovate and expand. A citywide survey suggested <br />
