Mayor Meier moved that the amended Consent Agenda <br />be approved, Luce seconded. Motion approved <br />unanimously. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS Tom McAvinew, 229 Lois Drive, Louisville, asked to <br />address Council regarding speeding on Hoover Ave. <br />and joggers with unleased dogs using the <br />neighborhood yards as relief stations. McAvinew <br />felt that police :had not adequately patrolled the <br />area for violators. Staff was instructed to check <br />into the matter and Mayor Meier felt that <br />educating people could help the situation. <br />Kevin McMahon, 8522 Valmont Drive, Boulder, <br />presented a Declaraltion of Dedication of 75~ of <br />the Harney property located at the corner of <br />Highway 42 and South Boulder Road to the City of <br />Louisville as open space. As he had announced in <br />a press conference this same day, Louisville <br />Associates, the holder of the option on this <br />property, is vez•y pleased to dedicate said <br />property to the City of Louisville if the <br />annexation vote i~> successful, and that 75~ of <br />the Harney property would be held in perpetuity <br />by the City of Louisville for the sole use as <br />open space. <br />Leary asked if the remaining 420 acres not owned <br />by the Harney's and not addressed in this <br />declaration would also be dedicated to the City in <br />the future. McMahon could only speak for the 123 <br />acres of Harney property which he represents. <br />APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS <br />HISTORICAL COMMISSION Ken Huson and Ron Meek were recommended by the <br />Historical Commission to be appointed to the board <br />to fill the current vacancies. <br />Morris was concerned that Meek was not a resident <br />of Louisville. His credentials proved to be <br />impeccable and would clearly be a great asset to <br />the board. However, Morris felt that there were <br />two other applications to the board who were <br />Louisville residents and that the formation of an <br />Historical Society could accommodate those <br />individuals who were not residents but wished to <br />become an active member in the preservation of <br />Louisville's history. <br />Ivan Urnovitz, vice-chairman of the Historical <br />Commission, addressed the concerns of Council. A <br />society is a major goal of the commission for 1985 <br />to allow more individuals to become active in <br />these efforts. The Commission's bylaws allow a <br />2 <br />
