PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
PRESENTATIOid BY
HISTORICAL COMMISSION Ivan Urnovitz, vice-chairman of the Historical
Commission, made a presentation to Council
reviewing past events and goals for 1985. He also
thanked the citizens of Louisville and the City
Staff for their support and participation. Among
the Commission's goals are the planning of the
Museum, restoration of the Community Building,
securing grant support, fund raising projects,
planning a design for the monument to the Old
Stone House, planning an historical society and
district, completion of the historical survey of
old Louisville and participating in the Fourth of
July Picnic including another auction.
Mayor rleier asked for a clarification as to the
pros and cons of forming an Historical District in
Louisville. Urnovitz related that becoming part
of a district would in no way be limiting.
Advantages include the possibility that certain
buildings within a district would qualify for a
higher level of t:ax credit should they chose to
greatly renovate their buildings. For those
property owners within the district, there is also
the prestige of having the Historical District
Designation.
The guidelines designed by the Commission forming
an Historical Society would be submitted to
Council for their input and approval.
AUXILIARY BUILDING
EXPANSION - NEODATA Morris asked for clarification as to the exact
location of the auxiliary building Hundley
detailed the expansion of said building to the
east of the main structure and would not increase
personnel nor traffic and would be used for
storage.
rlayor Meier moved that Council approve the
Auxiliary Building Expansion at Neodata, Luce
seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
MESA POINT-CONTINENTAL
VIEW TRAIL Morris asked Hioco why the lowest bidder was not
recommended to be awarded the Mesa Point-
Continental View Trail Contract. Hioco said the
selection was based on an attractive demonstration
by Shapins/Moss Company and their enthusiasm in
working with City Staff. Also, their background
seemed more compatible to a project of this
dimension.
2
