Mayor Meier moved t=hat Shapins/Moss be awarded the
Mesa Point/Continental View Trail Contract. Cussen
seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
AWARD BID FOR 12" AND
18" WATER LINE City Staff recommended award of the 1985 12" and
18" Water Line Installation Contract to Hirschfeld
Backhoe and Pipeline, Inc. of Longmont. There
were 10 bidders and Hirschfeld was the low bidder
at $368,640.49. This bid was $52,000.00 under the
engineer's estimate.
Mayor Meier moved that Hirschfeld Backhoe and
Pipeline, Inc. ofd Longmont be awarded the water
line bid in the amount of $368,640.49. Cussen
seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
RESOLUTION #5 SPECIAL
REVIEW USE - PRECISION
AUTOMOTIVE Resolution #5 - "A Resolution Approving the
Special Review Use for Precision Enterprises," was
read in its entirety by Rautenstraus. Hundley
informed Council that Planning Commission
recommended this resolution with two conditions:
1) paving the parking lot by December 1, 1985, and
2) screening fence be located between the cars in
the parking lot a.nd the adjoining residential•
areas. In light of the improvements that will be
occurring as a result of a Special Improvements
District, Hundley suggested to Council that there
may some question. as to the timing of the
recommended date for the paving of the parking
lot. It would seem appropriate to have the
parking lot paved a.t the tirne the improvements are
made to Cannon Street.
Ken Kreager, 2422 Evans Avenue, expressed his
desire to have the parking lot paved at the time
those improvements are made to Cannon Street.
However, he also felt that the fact that he only
has a one-year lease would financially burden him
with the above stated conditions if, in fact, his
business may not be located there after a year.
Kreager related that total screening
could present a problem in that pro
theft would be difficult if street
could not be conducted easily by
department. However, he did agree
screening.
of the lot
tection from
surveillance
the police
to aesthetic
Cussen asked if upon the signing of the lease,
Kreager would then stop all automotive repairs at
2422 Evans Avenue. Kreager responded, "Yes."
3
