G. Information on Louisville Protest of
Population Estimates used for Allocating
Lottery Funds
PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
HOUSING AUTHORITY
CONSOLIDATION At the May 21, 1985, Council Meeting, the
Louisville Housing Authority was asked by Council
to reconsider options for contracting with the
Boulder County Housing Authority that would
include the Louisville Housing Authority
maintaining ownership of Hillside Square and Regal
Square. Wanush presented to Counci 1 LHA's newest
recommendation to contract with the Boulder County
Housing Authority for administrative support as
well as operation and maintenance of all
facilities while complete ownership would be
maintained by the LHA.
The annual contract would amount to $12,000 yearly
and would be paid out of revenues generated by the
projects and through any federal assistance that
may be granted.
Also, LHA is seek:ing a statement of support from
Council to assist them if and when new sources of
housing assistance become available. This
assistance would be in the form of start-up and
development assistance including staff time and
limited financial aid. LHA believes this
assistance is necessary because the Boulder County
Housing Authority does not have sufficient funds
of their own to undertake new program development.
Mayor Meier moved to offer support to the Housing
Authority and to assist them on new housing
developments in the future. Cussen seconded.
Unanimous.
PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF COAL CREEK RANCH Mr. Mark Van Ark, representing Raymond Joeckel and
Paul Brown, owners of approximately 233 acres
adjacent to Louisville, is requesting annexation
to the City. This property is located on the
southside of the City and abuts Cherry Street and
crosses Coal Creek; and Dillon Road.
Wanush outlined the area proposed for annexation
to Council and noted that if Council recommends
the proposed annexation be referred to the
Planning Commission, staff would fully explore the
pro's and con's fiscally and otherwise as part of
the process.
2
