COUNCIL COMMENTS Cussen attended ithe walk-thru with staff of the <br />Water Treatment Plant on Friday and was very <br />pleased with the progress and related to staff <br />that he was pleasE~d with the results. <br />Hundley stated that a press release would go out <br />this week. He also related that for a 4-hour <br />period, the plant treated the equivalent of 8 mgd. <br />And had the plant not been finished, the old plant <br />only had the capacity of treating approximately 5 <br />mgd. <br />Morris stated that: she felt this Council should be <br />applauded for making the decision to fast-tract so <br />that this plant would have the capability of <br />producing what they City obviously needs. <br />Fauson has received complaints with regard to the <br />browning of the grass at the cemetery. He has <br />tried to explain that there is an old line <br />supplying the cemetery and an apparent leak from a <br />broken portion is the culprit. Also, rodents are <br />eating the flowers explaining some recent <br />problems with flowers disappearing. He asked that <br />staff look into the problems and make residents <br />aware of the situation. <br />Luce asked if any feed back had been received from <br />the State regarding the signals at the <br />interchange. Phare explained that he had not as <br />yet approached anyone at the State but will as <br />soon as possible. Luce also extended his <br />compliments and thanks to City staff members who <br />worked very hard t:o get the plant project finished <br />and on line. Mox-ris concurred. <br />Mayor Meier publicly thanked the Louisville <br />Chamber of Commerce and all the other entities <br />involved in the 4th of July Celebration including <br />the American Legion and the Fire Department. Al 1 <br />their time and effort made this a very enjoyable <br />celebration. This is one of the few cities around <br />that can still put. together a successful community <br />festivity. <br />ADJOURNMENT Mayor Meier moved that the meeting be adjourned. <br />Seconded and passed unanimously, the meeting <br />adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />
