C, asked if any
action could be taken to correct a problem with a
storm drainage ditch near her property. She and
several other people submitted a petition to
Council at the August 20th meeting. Tom Phare
responded stating that corrections could not be
made until the entire storm drainage project was
undertaken at this location. Trying to do a
portion of the drainage project would only create
a greater problem than now exists. He will study
the situation further and recommend any viable
solutions to Council. Funding for some storm
drainage improvements has been requested in the
1986 Budget's Discretionary Funds.
ORDINANCE #861 - OLD FIRE
STATION SITE REZONING -
PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #861,
"An Ordinance amending Title 17 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Louisville entitled 'Zoning' by
rezoning a parcel of property located within the
City of Louisville located northwest of Heritage
Subdivision owned by the City of Louisville."
Mayor Meier opened the Public Hearing and
Rautenstraus attested that proper notice of the
public hearing had occurred.
Wanush presented the rezoning request stating that
as a result of the land trade negotiated by the
City and McStain, McStain is to receive the 5 acre
old fire station site in exchange for land
adjoining the proposed recreation center site and
land for the proposed fire station on Via Appia.
The old fire station site is currently zoned "A".
At their July 1.8th meeting, the Planning
Commission approved the rezoning of the site to RE
for the following reasons: 1) All of the land in
the McStain Master Plan area is RE; 2) An RE
zoning would permit development compatible with
the McStain Master Plan and with the adjacent
Heritage Subdivision which is zoned RL.
2
