There were no public comments. Mayor Meier closed
the Public Hearing and moved that Ordinance #861
be adopted. Cussen seconded. Unanimous.
ORDINANCE #862 -
ZURICK REZONING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #862,
"An Ordinance amending Title 17 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Louisvi 1 le entitled ' Zoning'
by rezoning a parcel of property located within
the City of Louisville located near McCaslin
Boulevard owned by Vernon Zurick." Notice of this
public hearing was published and Mayor Meier
opened the Public Hearing.
In the presentation, Wanush stated that Mr. Zurick
requested the rezoning of a 10 acre parcel of land
located on McCasl.in Blvd from CN and O to CC.
This change is justified because 1) the new
McCaslin ROW now separates the property from
Homart's residential area to the east; 2) any
development could only be developed as a PUD; 3)
commercial properties should be concentrated on
arterials as long as access and design can be
controlled. Planning Commission decided against
rezoning to CN in order to avoid additional
special review use hearings which would be costly
to the landlord.
There were no public comments. Mayor Meier closed
the Public Hearing and moved that Ordinance #862
be adopted. Cussen seconded. Unanimous.
RESOLUTION #18 -
"TRUTH IN TAXATION
PROCEDURE" - 2 MILL
PROPERTY TAX INCREASE Rautenstraus read in its entirety Resolution #18,
Series 1985, "A Resolution adopting the Public
Disclosure Procedure to Increase Property Taxation
payable within thE: City of Louisville under the
Colorado Revised St:atutes."
Hundley stated that at the last Council meeting,
Council authorized staff to proceed with the
"Truth in Taxation" process to further consider a
possible 2 mill increase in property taxes (7.736
to 9.736). The Public Hearing scheduled for this
Council meeting is designed to encourage direct
citizen input regarding the desirability of
adopting the procedure. If the procedure is
adopted, then additional public notice will be
made for another public hearing to consider the
actual adoption of the two (2) mill increase.
3
