Library Board of Trustees <br />Meeting Minutes —DRAFT <br />March 10, 2016 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />selection process will continue the week of March 13 with public participation <br />and a final round of interviews with senior management staff. <br />• The drainage improvement project, which is a joint project between Louisville, <br />Lafayette, and the Urban Drainage District, will undertake necessary measures <br />in the Old Town /Downtown part of Louisville to remove it from a flood plain. <br />C. Library Foundation Report (Lancton) <br />Sherri reported: <br />• The Foundation's capital account current has $360,000. <br />• Annual funding is provided to the Library for programs and materials: <br />o Amount is based on 50% of annual donations and 3 -5% of the capital <br />account value <br />• The Foundation reached its goal of raising $20,000 for Makerspace equipment. <br />• The Foundation Board has seen a significant change in membership over the <br />past few months, with a focus on increased financial support to the Library. <br />D. Demographic Analysis (Karizen) <br />Board member Karizen was absent, so this item is continued to the meeting on May 12, <br />2016. <br />E. Biannual City Newsletter Insert for the Library <br />The Board reviewed a copy of a newsletter from last year and also samples of other <br />newsletters that Beth distributed. Sherri discussed the Board's approach to this project <br />last year and asked for input for this year. Members suggested including more statistical <br />data using infographics, as well as using more photographs, particularly of the building <br />or programs and from the Library's 10th anniversary celebration in August. Sherri will <br />coordinate input from individual Board members for discussion at the next meeting on <br />May 12. <br />F. Introductory Library Visits with Intercambio <br />As noted in Item VII.E., the Library Board will coordinate visits to the Library sometime <br />over the next few weeks. <br />G. Little Libraries <br />As noted in Item VII.E., the Library Board will continue to have sign -up sheets for <br />stocking the Little Libraries and will make plans to refurbish and repaint them. <br />H. Library Staff Luncheon <br />After a brief discussion, the Board unanimously agreed that the luncheon would be held <br />during the second half of May this year. There will be an opportunity to discuss this <br />further and make final preparations at the next Board meeting on May 12. <br />IX. Director's Report <br />In addition to items previously covered in this meeting, Beth noted the following: <br />• Equipment added to the Makerspace includes a Lulzbot 3D mini printer; a Cricut <br />electronic cutting machine, and a BB -8 robot <br />
