Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes —DRAFT March 10, 2016 Page 4 of 5 selection process will continue the week of March 13 with public participation and a final round of interviews with senior management staff. • The drainage improvement project, which is a joint project between Louisville, Lafayette, and the Urban Drainage District, will undertake necessary measures in the Old Town /Downtown part of Louisville to remove it from a flood plain. C. Library Foundation Report (Lancton) Sherri reported: • The Foundation's capital account current has $360,000. • Annual funding is provided to the Library for programs and materials: o Amount is based on 50% of annual donations and 3 -5% of the capital account value • The Foundation reached its goal of raising $20,000 for Makerspace equipment. • The Foundation Board has seen a significant change in membership over the past few months, with a focus on increased financial support to the Library. D. Demographic Analysis (Karizen) Board member Karizen was absent, so this item is continued to the meeting on May 12, 2016. E. Biannual City Newsletter Insert for the Library The Board reviewed a copy of a newsletter from last year and also samples of other newsletters that Beth distributed. Sherri discussed the Board's approach to this project last year and asked for input for this year. Members suggested including more statistical data using infographics, as well as using more photographs, particularly of the building or programs and from the Library's 10th anniversary celebration in August. Sherri will coordinate input from individual Board members for discussion at the next meeting on May 12. F. Introductory Library Visits with Intercambio As noted in Item VII.E., the Library Board will coordinate visits to the Library sometime over the next few weeks. G. Little Libraries As noted in Item VII.E., the Library Board will continue to have sign -up sheets for stocking the Little Libraries and will make plans to refurbish and repaint them. H. Library Staff Luncheon After a brief discussion, the Board unanimously agreed that the luncheon would be held during the second half of May this year. There will be an opportunity to discuss this further and make final preparations at the next Board meeting on May 12. IX. Director's Report In addition to items previously covered in this meeting, Beth noted the following: • Equipment added to the Makerspace includes a Lulzbot 3D mini printer; a Cricut electronic cutting machine, and a BB -8 robot
