Commission's Acceptance of the Museum Business Plan: <br /> The Commission accepted the Business Plan with the understanding <br /> that its acceptance did not necessarily indicate approval of all of its <br /> recommendations. <br /> iii. Discussion of Business Plan recommendations to suggest for <br /> incorporating into the Museum Interpretive Plan (Revised <br /> Museum Interpretive Plan to be reviewed at the July 6, 2016 <br /> Commission meeting): <br /> The Commission and Foundation did like the ideas of expanding <br /> programming, community outreach and strengthen participation <br /> with downtown Louisville events and festivals. Also, both the <br /> Commission and Foundation were in support of the HPC tax renewal <br /> to include Museum operations funding, preferably by going to <br /> voters in 2018. <br /> B. Review of upcoming dates important to the Commission and Museum <br /> and scheduling of joint meeting with Historic Preservation Commission: <br /> Bridget said that she has been talking with other City staff members about <br /> scheduling a joint meeting with the Historical Preservation Commission in <br /> August. The proposed date are the 3rd, 18th and 25th. This meeting will <br /> inform the HPC on the Museum Master Plan and the possible operations <br /> funding from the renewal for the Historic Preservation Tax. The <br /> Commission members discussed the dates and stated that they would <br /> prefer August 3rd or 18th <br /> VIII. Planning with the Foundation for Labor Day Parade entry (Labor Day is Monday, <br /> Sept. 5th): <br /> A. Theme this year is "Honoring Our Heritage," which will tie in well with the <br /> 30th anniversary of the Museum this year: <br /> Betty Scarpella volunteered to spearhead this effort and collaborate with <br /> the History Foundation on the float. Betty is planning to work with Robbie <br /> Ferguson to make a replica of the Jacoe store. <br /> B. Volunteers will be needed to (1) work on the float itself(2) walk in the <br /> parade with the float and organize others to also walk: <br /> 3 <br />
