City Council Study Session Summary August 23, 2016 Page 2of 5 Sustainability Advisory Board Jamie Bartlett, Dan Delahunty, Alison Johanson, Mary Ann Martin, Mark Persichetti Members of Public: Deb Fahey, John Leary Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Mayor Muckle Discussion City of Lafayette Library Consortium Library Public Services Manager Becky Campbell said Louisville is very happy that Lafayette is joining the Library Consortium. It will be a good joint effort. Other libraries in the consortium are Boulder, Broomfield, and Longmont. There are growing pains but the consortium allows a shared catalog. Council member Stolzmann gave an overview of the Makerspace. Parks, Recreation and Open Space Update Mayor Muckle said the Mayhoffer Farm is of primary interest to the cities of Louisville and Lafayette. City Manager Klaphake said discussions with the Mayhoffers have gone on for years and Louisville and Lafayette are good partners. Buffer Areas Considered in Municipal Comprehensive Plans/Possible Joint Vision for Buffer Area Near Paschal/Highway 42 Klaphake said this is not a priority for Lafayette. Lafayette has an o open space tax. Mayor Berg gave an overview of Lafayette Open Space tax. o Status of Lafayette Soccer Complex at Harney Lastoka Open Space City Manager Klaphake said Lafayette hoped to share synthetic o soccer fields and baseball fields so as not to have duplicate restrooms and concessions. Priorities changed in Lafayette but Lafayette still thinks it is a good idea. City Manager Fleming talked about intersection improvements at o Short Street and Highway 42 that will link the ballfields to the development area east of the tracks and ultimately downtown Louisville with a future underpass. Opportunities for Collaboration in Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Senior services Mayor Muckle talked about the idea of joining services for senior o meals and other areas to collaborate.
