City Council
Study Session Summary
August 23, 2016
Overall, Mayor Muckle likes the Sustainability Action Plan. If the plan is passed,
the City could start telling the story of what we have achieved so far.
Council member Stolzmann would be in favor of bringing it to a Council meeting
and voting for adoption. She has reservations about a staff person. Discussion of
funding a position took place.
Council member Loo said the Plan is very friendly and she thanked the Board for
their effort. She feels it is a document the community can work with.
Council member Lipton said there doesn't always have to be an ROI, sometimes
there can be a good balance and it is good for the community.
Council member Leh suggests there will need to be a lot of dialogue to convince
people to place priority on the Plan.
Council member Lipton said Council asked for an aspirational document and that
is what LSAB delivered. He reviewed some changes he would like to see to the
Plan.
The Mayor would like the Board to consider the comments Council has offered
tonight and bring the Plan back for another review by Council.
City Manager's Report
City Manager Fleming reviewed the Advanced Agenda.
Identification of Future Agenda Items
Adjourn 9:40 pm
Submitted by— Dawn Burgess
August 24, 2016
