PUBLIC HEARING- 2ND READING

Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1171, Series 1994, "An ordinance amending Section
6.02.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning the definition of "running at large."

Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police, stated the dogs needed to be accompanied by the owner and remain
under voice or hand control.

Davidson opened the public hearing calling for anyone wishing to speak on this ordinance.

NONE

Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments, questions, or motions.

Sisk wanted to includ in the ordinance that the dogs be licensed, which would give the city rabies
control.

Goodman stated that the city had a licensing requirement separate from running at large and the
county also requires rabies vaccinations.

Davidson instructed the City Attorney to amend the ordinance to include licensing.

Griffiths proposed adding "licensed," after" .... if the dog is".

Lathrop felt it should be defined as a valid rabies tag.

Lathrop moved that Council adopt Ordinance No. 1171, Series 1994, on second and final reading,
including the amendment that dogs be required to have a valid rabies vaccination tag.
