Doug Chaps, 617 West Lilac Court, Louisville, Colorado, did not feel there could be too many
recreational outlets for children. He has three children who skate and the benefits for them had been
substantial as far as personal growth. He volunteers his time to coach a team and the Association is
very limited as far as letting kids in because there is not enough ice time. Many kids are waiting to
participate.

Marc Miller, 871 Osprey Court, Louisville, Colorado, chose Louisville to live in because of the way
the city had been planned. He had figured the city will beproviding in the land itself about 8% of the
initial $2 million commitment, so for every 92 cents that are raised through contributions and
donations, they expect to have 8% kicked in by the city. Their saying is that "Kids on ice are not in
hot water." He hoped the economics provided with the lease would convince Council that this is a
very low risk proposition.

Todd Ohlheiser, 1164 West Enclave, Louisville, Colorado, was in favor of the ice arena not only for
recreation, but exercise also.

Steve Whitcomb, 699 West Hickory Street, Louisville, Colorado, stated that he has two sons and just
one was able to get on a BVHA, because of the limitation of the number of kids that could get into
the program due to the limitation on ice time at CU.

Bob Quails, 1124 Lafarge Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, has a son that plays hockey and he also likes
to skate. He was very much in favor of the ice arena.

Tom Zieske, 592 Cleveland Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, felt that ice skating was a phenomenal
attitude builder for girls and boys and a real compliment to the Recreation Center.

Davidson called for Council comments.

Mayer was concerned with the additional parking using up part of the arboretum. He wanted No.
3 deleted from the list of conditions in Resolution No. 68. Instead, he felt it should say that any event
that required more parking than the existing parking, arrangements would have to be made with
surrounding property owners to provide the parking. He wanted some screening along Via Appia.
He wanted the city to provide some screening for the people living in Cornerstone.

Keany pointed out the advantage of families coming into Louisville for the regional meets, etc.,
which would be adding to the economic impact on Louisville. He encouraged Council to approve
the PUD tonight and move on with the lease as soon as possible.

Lathrop felt the parking was being handled properly with the escrow moneys, should they be needed.

Levihn liked the idea of children having this activity in their own community.

Davidson agreed with Levihn.

5
