Hornbostel:

that's currently
Mayhoffers.

owned by the

What kind of fall-back position do
we have in terms of purchasing that
open space, if the retail doesn't
go?

Brand:

Davidson:

Those are the fine points that we
have to get into with our City
Attorney. We would have to have an
agreement that defines that very
clearly. At this point, I need to
know whether you still support the
concept, so that we can begin to
work together again.

I cannot foresee giving up our
buffer between Louisville and
Lafayette, if there is no
significant gain, for instance; ball
fields. Lafayette is very
interested in a buffer between
Louisville and Lafayette, as long as
it's in Louisville. I think we
should have more equitable sharing.
I'm not really sure you need
Lafayette. I would like to
encourage Annette to continue the
negotiations with Lafayette, but she
should limit the amount of time.

Brand:

When we discussed this with the
former Council, everybody was in
favor of taking this to a vote of
the people, if we reach some kind of
agreement. When we had a meeting in
early January, the subject of the
Esmail property came up. The County
and Lafayette agreed that they would
purchase that because we have
purchased the Aquarius properties.
That is the trade off as far as
Aquarius and Esmail is concerned.
We will not be asked to contribute
25% of that.

Mayer:

How large was the Aquarius and the
Esmail property?

John Franklin, Director of Community Development, stated the Esmail
property is 36 acres and the Aquarius property is 28 acres.

10
